According to Jorge Picon of Relevo, Ferland Mendy's most recent injury has prompted Real Madrid to put the left-back up for sale this summer.

His lack of physical fitness is the Frenchman's main issue for Real Madrid. Mendy recently sustained his tenth injury since joining Los Blancos in 2019.

Ferland has never been able to play more than 40 matches per season for Los Merengues due to injuries and his body's poor response to treatment and recovery practices.

Last season, Real Madrid were willing to let Mendy go, but no suitable offers were received. They do anticipate more interest in the left-back this summer, though.

Mendy's contract expires in 2025, so Real Madrid should sell the Frenchman now if they want to get a good price in return. Meanwhile, Fran Garcia is expected to return to the club in June.
