Real Madrid in pole position to sign Marc Guehi

AS reports that Real Madrid have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Marc Guéhi. The 25-year-old Crystal Palace defender, who was very close to joining Liverpool last summer, is reportedly open to moving to Madrid — inspired by the success of his England teammates Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold at the Santiago Bernabéu.

According to British media, Crystal Palace would prefer to sell Guéhi abroad rather than strengthen a direct Premier League rival. This puts Real Madrid in a strong negotiating position.

With David Alaba expected to leave at the end of the season and uncertainty surrounding the future of Antonio Rüdiger, Guéhi has become one of the most realistic defensive targets for 2026.

Another name on Real Madrid’s shortlist is Ibrahima Konaté, but his recent poor form with Liverpool has weakened his candidacy. Other alternatives mentioned include Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich) and Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), although Schlotterbeck remains under contract until 2027.
