According to Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger, Real Madrid are now in pole position to sign Franco Mastantuono from River Plate.
The club’s chief scout, Juni Calafat, is currently in Buenos Aires, actively negotiating with both the player’s representatives and River Plate to finalize the deal. There is growing optimism within the club that an agreement will be reached soon.
Real Madrid CEO José Ángel Sánchez is also involved and is reportedly pushing to close the transfer in time for the teenager to join the squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Personal terms are expected to be a formality, as Mastantuono is highly interested in wearing the white shirt of Real Madrid.
While PSG had previously opened talks with the player, no official contact was made with River Plate. With the Argentine talent now putting those discussions on hold, all signs point to Real Madrid as the clear frontrunners to secure his signature.
