Real Madrid have reportedly taken the first concrete steps in their pursuit of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé.
According to Bild, the Spanish giants have already opened talks and submitted an initial offer worth €100 million, although the proposal was rejected by the Bundesliga club. Leipzig are believed to value the player at around €130 million, with reports suggesting a compromise could eventually be reached in the region of €120 million.
The race for the highly rated winger is becoming increasingly competitive. Liverpool are also said to have seen a €100 million bid turned down, while Paris Saint-Germain continue to monitor the situation closely. The player has previously admitted that the French champions were his preferred destination.
However, Real Madrid's entry into the race has changed the dynamics of the transfer. The club hopes its growing appeal and sporting project could influence the player's decision, in a similar fashion to last year's pursuit of Franco Mastantuono.
