Real Madrid has formally requested full access to the financial documentation included in the Negreira case, seeking to examine all records related to payments made by FC Barcelona over more than a decade. The information was revealed by former referee Xavier Estrada Fernández, who is acting as a private prosecutor in the proceedings, through a post on social media.
According to the request submitted to the investigating judge, Real Madrid is asking to review all audits, due diligence reports and forensic analyses carried out by external firms such as KPMG, PwC, Deloitte and Kroll between 2010 and 2021, provided they are linked to the case.
In addition, the club is demanding access to the more than 600 documents submitted by FC Barcelona in July 2023, as well as full details of the internal investigation commissioned by the Catalan club. This includes preliminary and final reports, interviews conducted, and all verification processes carried out internally.
As summarized by Estrada Fernández, the objective is “to place all the documents on the table and clarify what was paid and for what purpose,” as well as to determine whether the multimillion-euro payments were justified from an economic, fiscal and contractual standpoint.
The request also includes the taking of a sworn statement from Carlos Naval Biosca and demands that the firms and entities involved provide all communications, claims and additional documentation related to the case.
The judge must now decide whether to approve these measures, in a case that continues to expand in scope and deepen its investigation into FC Barcelona’s long-standing payments.
