Real Madrid have officially condemned the racist and xenophobic insults directed at Barcelona player Lamine Yamal by some of their fans during El Clásico. In a statement released early on Sunday, October 27, the club expressed its strong disapproval of the actions and stated that it "deeply regrets the insults uttered by a few fans" at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to fighting racism, xenophobia, and violence in football, announcing that it will launch an investigation to identify those responsible. Real Madrid has vowed to take "pertinent disciplinary and judicial measures" once the individuals involved are located, in line with its firm stance against such behavior.
Lamine Yamal was subjected to racist abuse while celebrating his goal, with offensive chants like "Fucking black" and "Fucking Moor" being heard from a section of the crowd. Real Madrid's swift response underscores its zero-tolerance policy toward these types of incidents, which have garnered widespread condemnation.
