Real Madrid are working on their next signing, Sergio Martínez. The midfielder has made an impressive start to the La Liga season, highlighted by a strong performance and a spectacular goal, quickly attracting the club’s attention.
According to Mario Cortegana, Real Madrid have accelerated their efforts and are now very close to securing the midfielder’s services.
The club’s current plan is for Martínez to begin his Real Madrid career with Castilla. However, if Racing Santander can guarantee him significant playing time, he could remain on loan with the newly promoted side for the rest of the season to gain experience in the top flight.
The transfer would reportedly cost €3 million, the value of Martínez’s release clause. Real Madrid would therefore be able to secure one of the most promising young talents in Spanish football for a relatively modest fee.
