Real Madrid C head into the final matchday of the season outside the relegation zone after a remarkable turnaround. Víctor Cea’s side has collected 19 of the last 24 available points, making them one of the strongest teams in the group over the past eight matches, alongside Alcalá.
The team has been battling relegation for weeks, but their recent form has transformed their situation. Six wins, one draw and only one defeat in the last eight games have lifted them to 12th place, putting survival within reach after a period where relegation seemed likely.
Their latest result, a convincing 3-0 away victory against Sanse, underlined the team’s momentum. The win was achieved with reinforcement from several Youth League champions, including Javi Navarro, Lezcano Lacosta, Ciria and Jacobo Ortega in the starting lineup, with Beto, Carlos Díez and Arnu also involved. Their contribution has added quality and depth during the decisive phase of the season.
Real Madrid C have now secured their place in the division by avoiding direct relegation. Their focus shifts to staying clear of the relegation playoff, which involves the team finishing 13th.
The scale of the comeback is reflected in their recent progression. On matchday 25, following a defeat against Navalcarnero, the team sat second from bottom with 21 points, seven points away from the playoff spot and 11 from safety. Eight rounds later, they have climbed to 12th place with 40 points.
The season will be decided in the final match at Valdebebas against Conquense, currently fourth, where Real Madrid C will aim to complete their survival.
