Real Madrid have ended their two-year boycott of the Ballon d'Or and will once again send representatives to the ceremony, scheduled to take place in London next Monday, October 26. According to L'Équipe, several members of the club will travel to England for the gala, where France Football will present the award to the best player of last season.

Kylian Mbappé is the only Real Madrid player considered to have a genuine chance of winning the prize, and confidence surrounding his candidacy has grown in recent days. The club is eager to have another Ballon d'Or winner in its ranks and believes the French striker has a strong chance of claiming the award.

According to Ok Diario, Real Madrid consider Mbappé the overwhelming favourite, which would help explain the club's decision to return to the ceremony. Diario AS shares that assessment, identifying the Frenchman as the leading candidate. Internationally, GOAL has also highlighted his chances.

Mbappé's prospects have steadily improved over recent months, with the absence of an undisputed favourite opening up the race. The main contenders are currently Real Madrid's number 10, Lamine Yamal and Harry Kane.

Despite not winning any major trophies at club level, Mbappé has strengthened his case through his outstanding goalscoring record. His performances at the World Cup have further boosted his candidacy, as he finished the tournament as its all-time leading scorer, an achievement that has attracted considerable attention.
