Real Madrid have reached the final of the inaugural EuroLeague Super Cup after defeating Dubai Basketball 95-98 in a thrilling overtime semifinal at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Pedro Martínez’s side had to overcome a difficult start, with the hosts building a 16-point advantage early in the game. Real Madrid fought their way back, trailing 43-42 at half-time before taking the contest all the way to the final seconds.
Neither side could be separated after 40 minutes, with the score tied at 88-88 and the game heading into overtime. Real Madrid held their nerve in the extra period to secure a hard-fought victory and book their place in the final.
The Madrid side will now face Olympiacos for the inaugural EuroLeague Super Cup title on Saturday at the Etihad Arena, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
