Real Madrid has officially announced the departure of captain Dani Carvajal, who will leave the club at the end of the season after 13 years with the first team.
The Madrid-born full-back will not renew his contract after spending virtually his entire career linked to the club. His departure comes following a difficult season in which he lost prominence after recovering from the serious injury suffered in October 2024 and amid the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Carvajal joined Real Madrid’s academy 24 years ago and leaves as one of the most decorated players in the club’s history, having won 27 titles, including 6 UEFA Champions League trophies. He was also a key figure during one of the most successful eras in the club’s history.
Real Madrid confirmed that a tribute will be held for Carvajal this Saturday during the final La Liga match of the season against Athletic Club at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
