Real Madrid and Cisco have officially expanded their multi-year global alliance, reaffirming the world's leading networking and security company as one of the club’s official technology partners. This collaboration aims to enhance the club’s digital infrastructure—both at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu stadium and Real Madrid City—with the latest in high-performance technology.
The announcement ceremony took place at the Santiago Bernabéu and was attended by Alex Wicks, CEO of Real Madrid Estadio; Andreu Vilamitjana, General Manager of Cisco Spain and Portugal; and Agostino Santoni, Senior Vice President of EMEA South.
As part of this strengthened alliance, the following key technological advancements are being implemented:
AI-Ready Data Center: Real Madrid City will feature a high-performance, scalable data center optimized for energy efficiency and capable of running both traditional and AI workloads.
Wi-Fi 7 Connectivity: Next-generation Cisco Wi-Fi 7 technology will be deployed across Real Madrid City, offering ultra-fast speeds, low latency, and enhanced user experiences for both fans and staff.
100 Gbps Network Infrastructure: A powerful 100 Gbps network will link the Santiago Bernabéu and Real Madrid City, built on Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI). This provides secure, simplified management and faster deployment of digital services.
Cisco has been integral to Real Madrid’s digital transformation for nearly two decades. In 2024, the Bernabéu's comprehensive tech renovation positioned the venue as a global model for innovation and fan experience. The renovation included the implementation of Europe’s first converged Software Defined Access (SDA) network in a stadium—allowing for secure, streamlined operations by connecting all stadium assets.
Additionally, Cisco’s cloud-based IP Fabric for Media solution enables the seamless production and distribution of content in real-time to more than 2,500 screens across the stadium, as well as to millions of fans globally through broadcast partners.
