Real Madrid secured their spot in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup after a convincing win over Salzburg at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The victory marked their second consecutive triumph in the group stage.
Vini Jr. was the standout performer, turning the game in Madrid’s favor before halftime. He broke the deadlock in the 40th minute with a composed left-footed strike and then delivered a stunning backheel assist for Valverde, who made it 2–0 just before the break.
In the second half, young striker Gonzalo Garcia put the game beyond doubt with a classy finish in the 84th minute, capping off another strong performance.
Real Madrid will now face Juventus in the round of 16, set to be played next Tuesday at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami (9:00 PM CET, 3:00 PM local time).
