Cadena SER journalist Anton Meana has revealed that Real Madrid internally acknowledge mistakes in their squad planning, particularly in midfield, where the club has struggled to properly replace Toni Kroos and Luka Modric over the years.
Despite having an abundance of talent in the middle of the pitch, including Arda Güler, Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Brahim Díaz, there is a growing belief within the club that the current group lacks the control, consistency and footballing intelligence once provided by the Kroos-Modric partnership.
That realization has led Real Madrid to plan a major investment next summer. The club is targeting a central midfielder capable of dictating the tempo, offering greater control in possession and providing the kind of passing vision needed to break down well-organized defenses.
