Dani Carvajal is going through a difficult period at Real Madrid after a season marked by injuries and reduced importance within the squad.
The right-back began the campaign as a regular starter in major matches amid initial uncertainty surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, injuries suffered after the derby against Atlético Madrid and later following the league Clásico significantly changed his situation.
Since Álvaro Arbeloa took charge, Carvajal has reportedly not featured for the team. The situation became even more complicated after the defender was left out of the preliminary 55-man squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The uncertainty surrounding Carvajal’s future has increased speculation that Real Madrid could look to strengthen the right-back position next season, with Trent currently viewed as the main option in that role.
One player reportedly attracting attention from Madrid is Wesley França of Roma. The Brazilian full-back joined the Italian club last summer for around €25 million and has quickly established himself as an important player under Gian Piero Gasperini.
Wesley’s performances have also earned him opportunities with the Brazilian national team under Carlo Ancelotti.
According to CaughtOffside, Real Madrid has included Wesley on its shortlist of potential right-back targets for next season. However, the Spanish club reportedly faces competition from Manchester City and Barcelona.
The defender remains under contract with Roma until 2030, and any potential transfer would reportedly require an offer exceeding €40 million.
