Antonio Rüdiger is reportedly close to extending his contract with Real Madrid for an additional year. According to Jorge Picón, there is “good communication between the player and Real Madrid,” with the final decision expected after an upcoming conversation. Although there is no official confirmation, the journalist suggests that “something has already been agreed upon for him to stay.”
At 33, Rüdiger continues to be a reliable presence in defense. Despite some inconsistent performances earlier in the season, he stepped up following Éder Militão’s injury and provided stability at the back. He has also formed a solid partnership with Dean Huijsen, contributing experience and consistency.
Real Madrid are expected to value his role within the squad, making a one-year extension a logical option. If his physical condition declines over time, the club could gradually reduce his role to allow Huijsen more playing time.
