At Real Madrid, it is becoming increasingly evident that the issue does not lie with the coaching staff. This view is not limited to the club itself, as many Madrid fans have shared the same feeling for some time. Ramón Álvarez de Mon summed it up clearly on social media: “It wasn’t Ancelotti’s fault, nor Alonso’s, and now it isn’t Arbeloa’s. All three had their successes and their failures, but that doesn’t explain everything.”

His message resonated strongly because it reflects the opinion held by a large portion of the fanbase. The club previously pointed to Xabi Alonso as the problem, even though the poor performances cannot be placed solely on the coach. The same happened with Carlo Ancelotti, who was initially the main target of criticism. However, the root of the issue appears to be the attitude of certain players and the overall structure of the squad.

Real Madrid are now obliged to carry out a deep and honest analysis of everything that has happened over the past year and a half. There is a clear problem in squad construction, and repeating the same mistakes is no longer an option. Acknowledging those errors and taking corrective action is essential if the club wants to get back on the right path.

It has been a long time since Real Madrid supporters felt this level of anger toward both the club and the players. Many fans feel disrespected and are demanding meaningful changes. Their frustration has only grown due to the club’s inactivity in the winter transfer window, as well as reports suggesting that the board believes the squad is strong enough to compete for everything and even regrets the appointment of Xabi Alonso.

One detail stands out in all of this: Xabi Alonso was never booed at the Santiago Bernabéu. The fans were not against him but alongside him. They believe in his ideas and his footballing vision, especially for a group of players accustomed to operating without clear limits or accountability.
