Real Madrid reached an agreement with Como last week regarding Nico Paz's future, allowing the Argentine midfielder to remain in Italy despite the Spanish club initially exercising its buy-back clause.

During Thursday's meeting between officials from both clubs, the parties agreed on a new deal under which Como would re-sign Paz for a fee of around €60 million, while Real Madrid retained another buy-back option for the future.

The arrangement was confirmed by the player's father, Pablo Paz, in an interview with Flashscore. He explained that his son was eager to continue his development at Como and believes it is the right step in his career.

“It was a difficult decision because Real Madrid really wanted him, but they also felt that another season in Italy, with the possibility of playing in the Champions League, would be the best option for his development,” Pablo Paz said.

He also confirmed that Real Madrid have kept the door open for a future return.

“If the buy-back clause is exercised, he can return to Madrid in the future.”

His comments confirm that the agreement includes a new buy-back clause, giving Real Madrid the opportunity to bring Nico Paz back after another season in Serie A.
