Real Madrid and the Community of Madrid have formalized a collaboration agreement to create the Madrid Innovation District, a major technology hub that will be developed within Real Madrid City. This new district will bring together companies, institutions, athletes, entrepreneurs, and citizens, using 85 of the facility’s 120 hectares to drive innovation, enhance knowledge, develop new technologies, and attract top talent.

The signing ceremony took place at Real Madrid City with the participation of Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, Miguel López-Valverde, the Community of Madrid’s Councilor for Digitalization, and Miguel Garrido, President of the Business Confederation of Madrid.

A PwC report estimates that the Madrid Innovation District will add nearly €1.2 billion annually to the region’s GDP and generate more than 23,000 jobs each year. The project will require an investment of €1.3 billion and is expected to create over 4,700 jobs during its construction phase.

The agreement also includes joint efforts to attract companies and research institutions to the district. In addition, educational and research centers specializing in digital skills, artificial intelligence, and data will be established within the area.
