Garbiñe Muguruza and Feliciano López symbolically transformed the Santiago Bernabéu into a tennis venue during the presentation of a special initiative linked to the Mutua Madrid Open. The two former Spanish tennis stars took part in the announcement that a clay court will be installed inside Real Madrid’s stadium during the tournament.
The project will allow some of the competition’s biggest names to train on a clay surface set up at the iconic venue. With this initiative, the organizers aim to create a unique training environment while also promoting one of the most prestigious tennis events in Spain in a spectacular setting.
Muguruza and López were responsible for inaugurating the court during the presentation, marking the first time the renovated Bernabéu has been adapted for tennis in this way. The initiative highlights the versatility of the stadium and offers a striking image of tennis being played inside one of football’s most famous arenas.
