José Mourinho has given his second interview since being appointed Real Madrid manager, speaking on the Beast Mode On podcast hosted by former England striker Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The Portuguese coach, who will officially begin work at Valdebebas on July 13, addressed speculation surrounding the future of several first-team players and dismissed suggestions that he plans to overhaul the squad.

"I've read some things saying that José is coming here and he's going to cut some of the best players who supposedly had problems during the season. No, no, I want these players, I want these players, I want the best."

Mourinho explained that his objective is not to replace key figures but to build a balanced and effective team around them.

"Now I have to find a way to have a team and not have the problems that, I don't know, from what I've read, they had in previous seasons."

The Real Madrid coach also made it clear that managing top players is a privilege rather than a challenge.

"Having the best guys is the best problem a coach can have," he said before adding: "If you have problems with players who aren't very good, that's a big problem."

Although he acknowledged that he has not yet been officially presented by the club, Mourinho did not avoid discussing his new role.

When asked which dressing room was the best of his managerial career, the Portuguese answered without hesitation: "Real Madrid."

Mourinho also delivered a humorous response when questioned about what he hopes to see at the World Cup.

"You want the truth? I want the Real Madrid players to lose and go on vacation. Because I want the lads back for preseason."

The manager explained that his priority is to have his international players return as soon as possible so they can begin preparations for the new season under his guidance.
