José Mourinho has reportedly made Rodri his top transfer priority for the remainder of the summer window.

According to Radio MARCA, the Real Madrid manager has personally urged club president Florentino Pérez to do everything possible to secure the signing of the Manchester City midfielder before the start of the new season.

Mourinho is believed to see Rodri as the ideal player to transform Real Madrid's midfield. The Portuguese coach is looking for a deep-lying playmaker capable of controlling possession, dictating the tempo and organizing the team's build-up play—qualities he considers essential after identifying midfield control as one of the squad's biggest weaknesses last season.

The report adds that Rodri himself is open to the move and would welcome the opportunity to join Real Madrid this summer.

The next challenge for Los Blancos will be reaching an agreement with Manchester City, with negotiations between the two clubs expected to determine whether Mourinho's priority signing becomes a reality.
