Éder Militão spoke openly in the latest episode of Real Talks on Real Madrid’s official channel, sharing his thoughts on his current situation and making his intentions clear from the start: “Whenever I’m on the pitch, I give my all. I’m really looking forward to playing again.”
The defender admitted that the pressure affects him, especially because of his competitive nature. “It weighs heavily on me, because I don’t like to lose, I don’t like being there feeling sad.” At the same time, he explained how he deals with setbacks. “If something doesn’t go 100%, I keep working on it so that I don’t make the same mistake in the next match.” He also emphasized the responsibility that comes with wearing the shirt. “We know the weight of the Real Madrid shirt and we know it’s an honor to play here.”
Militão detailed his approach to preparation, highlighting the importance of discipline beyond matchdays. “You have to take care of yourself off the field, you always have to be at your peak, even if you’re not playing or coming back from an injury.” On the pitch, his focus remains on constant improvement. “I’m always trying to improve, in terms of duels, ball recovery, and set pieces, both defensively and offensively.”
Looking ahead to the clash against Mallorca, he underlined the need for concentration. “They press hard, they always play until the very end, we have to be constantly alert.” He also made his personal standards clear. “I’m not even talking about 100%, 200% if possible.”
During a fan Q&A, Militão pointed to the 2022 Champions League Final as his best memory with the club. “I was at a point in my life, I think my best form,” he said, recalling the final against Liverpool. “Suddenly you’re in a final, the scoreboard goes up, and then the final whistle blows; a thousand things went through my head.”
Speaking about European nights at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, he was clear. “We love this competition; we know it’s very special for us.” When asked to describe what it means to wear the shirt, his answer was simple: “Pride, of course.”
