Éder Militão is once again dealing with injury concerns, with the Real Madrid defender potentially facing surgery that could rule him out of this summer’s World Cup, according to Tiempo de Juego en COPE.

The Brazilian was forced off during the match against Alavés after experiencing discomfort in his hamstring. Subsequent medical tests confirmed an injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his left leg.

Militão is currently evaluating his options with medical staff and close advisors. If he avoids surgery, his recovery time is expected to be around five weeks, although there would be a significant risk of relapse. Opting for surgery would rule him out of the World Cup but would reduce the chances of further complications.

In that case, the recovery period is estimated at four to five months, which could allow him to return in time for the start of the 2026/27 season, although his injury history suggests a cautious approach will be taken.
