Real Madrid has officially announced the signing of German midfielder Melanie Leupolz. Leupolz joins from Chelsea, where she enjoyed a highly successful four-year stint, securing nine titles. Her career began in the Bundesliga, playing for FC Freiburg and Bayern Munich, where she won two league titles.
Leupolz has an impressive international record with the German national team, including a European Championship and a gold medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She also was a runner-up at the U-20 World Cup during her time in the youth ranks.
This signing further strengthens Real Madrid's midfield as they continue to build a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
