His injury typically requires three weeks of recovery, meaning he may not return until after the upcoming international break.
Mbappé had been eagerly anticipating his first major derby, but the wait continues, as he has yet to face Atlético in his career. During the final stages of the match against Alavés, Mbappé asked to be substituted after feeling discomfort in his left hamstring. Although his gesture towards Carlo Ancelotti hinted at trouble, the coach initially downplayed the severity, stating, “It doesn’t seem serious.” However, less than 24 hours later, Ancelotti received the news that his star player won’t be available for the clash at the Metropolitano.
