The ongoing saga between PSG and Kylian Mbappé is heading towards a tumultuous conclusion, potentially even more acrimonious than anticipated last summer when Nasser Al-Khelaifi excluded Mbappé from the preseason tour. According to 'L'Equipe,' Mbappé has demanded that the club pay the €100 million in salary and bonuses due since April. PSG, however, has no intention of fulfilling these financial obligations, including the famed loyalty bonus, despite the contract stipulating payments through to June 30, the date his contract expires.

PSG has communicated its stance to the LFP (Professional Football League). Meanwhile, Mbappé has promised not to harm the club financially if he leaves Parc des Princes on a free transfer. Negotiations are ongoing, with Mbappé's camp invoking article 259 of the professional football charter, which mandates that clubs must pay salaries to contracted players by the end of each month.

The matter has yet to reach a legal level, with both parties still in discussions. However, Mbappé has already issued the first formal notice. According to 'L'Equipe,' Mbappé had agreed to forgo €55 million in gross payments to leave some money in PSG’s coffers. This gesture of goodwill managed to convince Al-Khelaifi, enabling Luis Enrique to reintegrate him into the squad's dynamics. Despite this verbal agreement, nothing has been signed in writing.

Initially, PSG's plan was to recoup €180 million for Mbappé’s departure, either through a contract renewal with an exit clause or by saving part of his salary. However, this plan did not materialize, leading PSG to withhold his salary starting in April.

Mbappé, determined not to relinquish his rightful earnings, which total approximately €100 million, has put PSG on notice before resorting to legal action. Negotiations are expected to continue in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Mbappé remains focused on his duties with the French national team at the Eurocup, while awaiting a potential presentation with Real Madrid on July 16.
