However, Mbappé was not only the star on the pitch. He also became one of the main voices off it. After the match, the Real Madrid number 10 spoke to the media and was asked, as expected, about the reported tension between Xabi Alonso and some players in the dressing room.

Mbappé responded clearly: “The relationship between the Real Madrid dressing room and Xabi Alonso? What do you want me to say? I have nothing to say. At Real Madrid, when you don’t win, people talk a lot, and we haven’t won our last two games. We have played very badly, but after the break we will return ready to beat Elche.
