The team recorded several convincing victories and even climbed back to the top of the La Liga standings. However, in recent weeks the momentum has faded, with Real Madrid once again struggling in both performances and results.

As things stand, Arbeloa’s chances of continuing on the bench may depend on silverware. Winning at least one of the two competitions still within reach, La Liga or the UEFA Champions League, appears to be the key condition for extending his stay.

With uncertainty surrounding the managerial position, the club’s board is already studying potential alternatives. One of the names gaining attention is Mauricio Pochettino, currently in charge of the United States men's national soccer team. According to Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, the Argentine coach is expected to travel to Madrid to attend the Champions League match between Atlético Madrid and his former team Tottenham Hotspur.
