Mateo Busquets Ferrer has been appointed as the referee for Real Madrid's LaLiga Matchday 9 clash against Sevilla, which will take place this Sunday at 9:00 PM at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The referee from the Balearic Islands has already officiated one of José Mourinho's matches this season. He was in charge of Real Madrid's 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad on Matchday 2, which also marked the Portuguese coach's return to the Bernabéu.

Sunday's fixture will be Busquets Ferrer's ninth match as referee involving Real Madrid. His record so far favors the team from Chamartín, with six wins and two draws against Atlético de Madrid and Las Palmas. He has also officiated Sevilla on 11 occasions, overseeing eight wins and three defeats for the Andalusian side.

Guillermo Cuadra Fernández will serve as the VAR official. The Madrid-born referee is among the most controversial figures in Spanish football. Real Madrid have won just 11 of the 21 matches he has officiated involving the club, alongside five draws and five defeats.
