The sending-off of Franco Mastantuono against Getafe has been punished with a two-match ban by the Competition Committee.
In his official report, the referee stated that the Argentinian player addressed him with the words: “What a disgrace, what a fucking disgrace.” Under Article 124 of the disciplinary code, this falls under “disrespectful or contemptuous behavior” and carries a standard sanction of two matches.
The Committee also rejected Real Madrid’s appeal regarding the yellow card shown to Aurélien Tchouaméni. “The Tribunal reiterates that the intensity of the contact between the two players must be assessed by the referee and falls within the limits of his authority to evaluate the events of the game,” the resolution states.
