Mario Hezonja broke his silence amidst the speculation surrounding his future. The Croatian forward of Real Madrid went from being rumored to join their eternal rival, Barcelona, to renewing his contract with Real Madrid after his statements following the Endesa League final against UCAM Murcia. Hezonja confirmed his decision on his 'X' account.
"As you know, I became a free agent after the last game of the season and I am free to decide where I want to play in the following years. I have not reached any agreement with anyone now, and as I said, you would always hear it from me first," he posted.
"Real Madrid believed in me when many did not. They took care of me and my family from the day I arrived and made us feel at home. My only intention has been to stay, and I am very happy to announce that I will continue my career in my home, my Real Madrid, for a long time," he concluded, adding a 'tifo' with his 'logo' - from SuperMario - and a 'Hala Madrid'.
