Real Madrid's midfield plans could take another twist as speculation surrounding Rodri's potential arrival continues to grow.

The club had appeared set to extend Aurélien Tchouaméni's contract after failing to find a suitable transfer during the summer, despite repeated interest from Manchester United. Although reports suggested an agreement had been reached, the renewal has yet to be officially announced.

According to Manchester United correspondent Samuel Luckhurst, the Premier League side have once again asked about Tchouaméni's availability as they continue their search for midfield reinforcements. The Red Devils remain keen to strengthen the position after encountering difficulties with other targets.

For now, reports indicate that any move for Rodri is not dependent on a major sale. However, the arrival of the Manchester City midfielder could significantly alter the situation. Increased competition in midfield could prompt Tchouaméni to reassess his future, particularly after previously rejecting an offer worth more than €100 million from Manchester United.

Should the French international eventually decide to leave, Real Madrid would be in a strong financial position, with the proceeds from his departure potentially covering the cost of signing Rodri. For the moment, though, the club continues to monitor both situations as it evaluates its midfield options for the new season.
