Manchester City has yet to recover from their Champions League semifinal loss to Real Madrid. The club's CEO, Spaniard Ferran Soriano, has said that the white team deserved to lose all of the qualifiers against PSG, Chelsea, and City, as well as the final against Liverpool. The 14th is still stinging at Etihad Stadium.
"The Champions League is an additional trophy that we want, but we know it is subject to a bit of luck, so we are not obsessed," Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano told Dr. Football Podcast.
"And I believe it is fair to say that there has been some luck. Perhaps I could say that they [Real Madrid] deserved to lose to PSG, Chelsea, us, and Liverpool.
"People forget that in the 1990s and 1980s, Real Madrid had a fantastic team, one of the best in history, led by Butragueno, and they could not win the European Cup," he continued.
Defeating four top-tier teams is too much to call it luck, isn't it? Especially since all of the games were two-legged. We understand their sorrow and we look forward to the 15th.
