Real Madrid are continuing to explore options for Raúl Asencio's future after José Mourinho informed the defender that he is not part of his plans for the upcoming season.
While the academy graduate is determined to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu, the club is actively looking for a solution, with a permanent transfer considered the preferred outcome. Asencio and his representatives are therefore assessing potential destinations, and Liverpool has emerged as one of the clubs linked with the defender.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are evaluating the possibility of signing Asencio this summer. The report claims that the player's representatives have already made contact with the Premier League club, while Real Madrid would be willing to negotiate his departure.
Despite the growing speculation, Asencio's priority remains staying at Real Madrid and fighting for his place. However, Mourinho has reportedly made it clear that the Spanish defender is unlikely to receive regular opportunities next season.
If Liverpool decide to move forward with the deal, Real Madrid are not expected to stand in the player's way. His departure would also allow the club to intensify its pursuit of Alessandro Bastoni, who continues to be identified as Mourinho's preferred option to strengthen the heart of the defense.
