Toni Kroos, who played for Real Madrid from 2014 to 2024, has openly said he understands why Vinicius has been criticized for his on-field behavior. Speaking in Düsseldorf, the former German midfielder explained that Vinicius’s reactions during matches sometimes affected the team.
Kroos, who shared six seasons and two Champions League titles with the Brazilian, admitted he often warned Vinicius that his attitude was hurting Real Madrid. He added that opponents, referees, and even fans could find Vinicius frustrating at times, creating a feeling that everything was turning against the team.
He also revealed that he frequently tried to calm Vinicius down during games to help him stay focused, telling him that he was talented enough and didn’t need the extra distractions.
