Real Madrid released a medical report on Thursday regarding Ibrahima Konaté's injury after the center-back returned to Spain from the French national team camp.
The club confirmed that Konaté has suffered a collateral ligament injury in his right leg. "His recovery is being monitored," the statement read.
Real Madrid expects Konaté to be available after the international break, barring any unforeseen setbacks. The club's first match following the international window will be against Villarreal at the Bernabéu on October 10, which is now the target date for the French defender's return.
Real Madrid will already be without Dean Huijsen for that match after he was sent off in last weekend's Madrid derby. Should Konaté also be unavailable, José Mourinho would have to field an entirely new and previously unused center-back pairing of Rüdiger and Asencio.
