Former Borussia Dortmund chief executive Joachim Watzke believes Erling Haaland will eventually play for Real Madrid, although he does not expect the move to happen this summer.
Speaking to AS during Real Madrid's presidential election period last June, Watzke discussed both Haaland and Jürgen Klopp, two figures he knows well from their time at Borussia Dortmund.
Watzke dismissed the possibility of Klopp taking charge of another club, while expressing confidence that Haaland's long-term future could be at the Santiago Bernabéu.
"Erling loves Real Madrid and doesn't hide it. I think that in a while, in two or three years, he'll play there, but not now. His time will come."
According to Watzke, the Norwegian striker is expected to remain with his current club for now, but he believes a move to Real Madrid could eventually become a reality.
