Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, admitted that while he would like Rodri Hernández to remain at the club, he understands that players must be free to decide their future.
The Spanish coach acknowledged the appeal of Real Madrid, especially amid recent speculation linking Rodri with a potential move. “No player would turn down the chance to play for Real Madrid,” Guardiola said ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.
He also made it clear that player happiness remains a priority. Guardiola insisted that if a player is not satisfied, the club will not stand in their way, reinforcing the idea that decisions ultimately belong to the individual.
