Real Madrid fell to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semifinals, suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat after a nightmare start. PSG capitalized on two early defensive lapses to go 2-0 up within the first 10 minutes. In the 6th minute, Fabián Ruiz opened the scoring from inside the box, and just three minutes later, Ousmane Dembélé beat Courtois one-on-one to double the lead.

The French side continued to dominate, and in the 22nd minute, Fabián struck again on a quick counterattack to make it 3-0 before halftime. After the break, Real Madrid pushed forward in search of a response. Mbappé had a chance in the 52nd minute with a shot from the edge of the area that flew over the bar. Valverde later saw a promising strike deflect off Beraldo in the 72nd minute.

Set pieces created some threat. In what was Luka Modric’s final appearance for the club, he delivered a corner that found Militão, whose header missed the target. Militão, playing for the first time in eight months, and Carvajal, returning after nine months out, both featured in the second half.

In the 86th minute, Militão tried his luck again with a shot from distance, but Donnarumma made the save. Just two minutes later, Gonçalo Ramos added PSG's fourth to seal a dominant performance.
