Gareth Bale has thrown his support behind Xabi Alonso, expressing confidence that the former midfielder will guide Real Madrid back to greatness. In an interview with El Mundo, the Welshman praised Xabi’s footballing mindset and predicted a successful era for Los Blancos under his leadership.
“You can never count Real Madrid out,” Bale said. “They’re always just one step away from being great again.”
He believes that with patience and time, Xabi Alonso has the potential to build a title-winning team. “I’m still a Real Madrid fan, and I hope they lift more trophies next season,” he added.
For Bale, Alonso’s passion is key: “He’s obsessed with football, and in today’s game, you need that. He lives and breathes football. We all saw what he achieved with Bayer Leverkusen, and I’m confident he’ll do well in Madrid too.”
Still, the former winger acknowledged the challenge ahead: “He’s only been there four weeks. His biggest task will be getting the stars to work together as a unit while allowing their individual brilliance to shine.”
