Franco Mastantuono will not travel to Anfield. Real Madrid’s medical team has diagnosed the Argentine with pubalgia, ruling him out of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Liverpool.
The midfielder did not train with the rest of the squad on Monday. Instead of the traditional session at the rival stadium, Real Madrid carried out their final preparations at Valdebebas, as Xabi Alonso opted for a more private environment away from the media.
Mastantuono started and completed the full 90 minutes in Real Madrid’s last match against Valencia on Saturday. However, his discomfort has now forced him to pause. While he is certain to miss the Liverpool game, the recovery timeline for pubalgia is unpredictable and varies from case to case.
