Florentino Pérez will not travel to Barcelona for the upcoming El Clásico between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The Real Madrid president will maintain the stance he has held since the emergence of the Negreira Case in 2023, avoiding appearances in Barcelona’s presidential box.
Florentino already missed the previous Clásicos played at Montjuïc and will also be absent from the upcoming meeting at Camp Nou. According to reports, there will likewise be no official meeting between representatives of both club boards, reflecting the continued tension in relations between the two institutions.
The distancing between the clubs reportedly began on March 19, 2023, shortly after the Negreira Case became public. That occasion marked the first time in two decades that Florentino Pérez did not attend a Clásico at Barcelona’s stadium.
Since then, the position has remained unchanged and is expected to continue for future meetings between the two rivals.
