Florentino Pérez used the traditional Christmas lunch with Real Madrid’s football and basketball squads to deliver a message to the club’s players and staff. The president looked back on the club’s recent successes while warning against complacency and reminding everyone of the responsibility that comes with wearing the Real Madrid badge.

Addressing players, coaches, medical staff, club employees, board members, legends, and ambassadors, Florentino began by wishing everyone a happy holiday season alongside their families and loved ones.

He stressed that the club’s history and legacy have been built on a clear set of values, highlighting hard work, sacrifice, commitment, ambition, unity, respect, humility, and solidarity as the foundations of Real Madrid’s success. He described being part of the club as both a privilege and a major responsibility.

Florentino emphasized the global impact of Real Madrid players, reminding them that they inspire millions of fans around the world, especially young supporters who see them as role models. He underlined that representing Real Madrid extends beyond the pitch and into everyday life.

Reflecting on recent achievements, the president noted that the club has won 58 titles over the past 15 years, with 30 in football and 28 in basketball, including six European Cups in football and three in basketball. Despite this golden era, he insisted that Real Madrid must never settle and must continue fighting until the very end of every season.

He also highlighted the club’s enormous global reach, pointing out that Real Madrid now has 660 million followers across social media platforms, a figure that reflects its worldwide influence. With that in mind, he urged players to never give up in any match and to always give their maximum effort when wearing the shirt.

Florentino concluded by thanking everyone for their dedication, Madridismo, and solidarity. He also referenced the upcoming hospital visits, reminding the players of the importance of bringing hope and joy to children and families facing difficult moments. He closed his speech by wishing everyone good health and happiness in the year ahead.
