Kylian Mbappé surprised everyone last month when he announced his renewal with PSG. After months of multiple nods to Real Madrid, the French player disappointed the Real Madrid management by extending his contract with the Parisians. Everything appeared to be in place, but at the last minute, he chose the petrodollars over his dream of playing at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As we know, Mbappé's dream was to play for Real Madrid, according to the autobiographical comic 'Je m'appelle Kylian.' But, just in case there was any doubt, Nicola and Béatrice Riccardi reveal that the Parisian striker promised his parents when he was a child that he would one day play for Los Merengues.

Nicola and Béatrice are a family of Italian origin living in Bondy, near Paris, with whom Kylian Mbappé spent most of his childhood.  As AC Milan supporters, the couple attempted but failed to persuade Mbappe to support the Rossoneri, as they revealed in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"We gave him a shirt and he liked it, but he was a madridista and he would have been happier with a white one. From the age of seven he began to say that one day he would be a professional and that he would play for Real Madrid. We laughed, but he had it clear in his mind", they remember in the Italian newspaper.

Mbappé's dream is still alive. "It is never going to end. The only difference is that I have now signed a three-year contract," the striker admitted in an interview with the BBC. Nicola and Béatrice Riccardi also do not rule out the possibility of the French footballer playing for Real Madrid in the future.

"Kylian, on the other hand, has always pursued his dreams with ambition. He is making them come true. Even if he said no to Real Madrid, everything goes fast in football and in a few years maybe he will truly become the idol of the Bernabéu. We are proud of his career. Kylian is happy even with the little things."
