Much has been said in recent weeks about Jürgen Klopp and Real Madrid. According to Fabrizio Romano on DAZN, the German coach is well regarded by some of the club’s directors, but nothing concrete has been agreed upon. Álvaro Arbeloa will remain in charge at Real Madrid at least until the end of the season.
Romano explains: “There are important people at Real Madrid who really like Jürgen Klopp as a coach, as a person… That’s why so much is coming out in the German press. This is normal, but for now they tell me that yes, he is liked by important people within the club, but that there's nothing concrete.”
He added: “When Jürgen Klopp goes to the press and says there’s nothing to it, that it’s all just speculation, that’s the reality for now. Because no one has contacted him, there are no offers on the table, no negotiations, nothing at the moment. Is Real Madrid interested? Well, maybe, but for now we’ll see what happens with Álvaro Arbeloa. There’s nothing concrete, nothing serious with the German.”
What is clear is that Real Madrid plan to keep Arbeloa in charge until June. If they fail to win either La Liga or the Champions League by May, the club may reassess their options, and at that point, Jürgen Klopp could emerge as a serious candidate for the Santiago Bernabéu job.
