Enrique Riquelme continues to be one of the central figures in the upcoming Real Madrid presidential election debate.

Speaking at a charity event for Clínica Menorca at the Ciudad de la Raqueta, the potential candidate confirmed that preparations are still ongoing and that a decision on whether to run will be made within the next few days.

“We're still working on it. They've given us very little time to organize something that really makes sense, something good for Real Madrid. We're not going to waste time, and in the next two or three days, we'll decide what we're going to do,” Riquelme said regarding his possible candidacy.

The businessman from Alicante also made clear that, if he enters the race, it will be to present a strong alternative project for the club’s future.

“If we go, it will be something that really makes good sense and is exciting for a new Real Madrid for the next 10, 15 or 20 years.”

Riquelme also confirmed that he believes he has the necessary backing to meet the requirements needed to run in the election.

“Yes, of course,” he stated when asked about endorsements.
