Enrique Riquelme launched a striking campaign initiative in Budapest just hours before the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
The Real Madrid presidential candidate, who has made several promises linked to the club’s future in European competition, used four buses to promote his campaign in the Hungarian capital.
The buses displayed slogans that appeared to send a message to the rest of Europe. Two of them carried the phrase: “Enjoy the night, we'll be back.”
Another slogan featured on the campaign vehicles read: “Rivals come and go. Real Madrid returns.”
The move quickly attracted attention ahead of one of the biggest nights in European football and added another high-profile chapter to Riquelme’s election campaign as he seeks support from Real Madrid members ahead of the presidential vote.
