Enrique Riquelme made his appearance at the Santiago Bernabéu ahead of Real Madrid’s final match of the season against Athletic Club after officially submitting his presidential candidacy to the Electoral Board.
The candidate arrived wearing a Real Madrid scarf and a Dani Carvajal shirt in tribute to the captain, who was being honored during the evening. The gesture quickly drew attention from supporters gathered outside the stadium.
Accompanied by his security team, Riquelme walked around part of the exterior of the Bernabéu amid a mixture of support, criticism, and curiosity from fans. He stopped for photos with supporters and interacted closely with those waiting to see him.
Although he avoided making detailed statements regarding his sporting plans, several fans asked him directly about the coach and signings he would pursue if elected president.
Before entering through gate 65 around half an hour before kickoff, Riquelme briefly addressed the media and encouraged Real Madrid members “to mobilize for something that will be historic: voting again” in the upcoming elections.
