The Real Madrid presidential campaign has entered its final and most intense stage ahead of Sunday's election, a vote that could have a significant impact on the club's future.
On Thursday morning, a large banner appeared on the corner of Diego de León in Madrid as part of Enrique Riquelme's campaign efforts to challenge Florentino Pérez in the race for the presidency.
The banner criticizes Pérez's proposed ownership model, which he has defended during the campaign. The current president previously explained his idea by stating: "The club can create a company that is 100% owned by the club, where we manage the football and basketball activities."
The display features an image of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium alongside a "For Sale" sign and includes contact information associated with the Real Madrid president.
Riquelme's campaign also addressed club members directly with a message aimed at encouraging participation in the election.
"And you, what are you going to do? Real Madrid is not for sale."
With only days remaining before voting begins, tensions between the two campaigns continue to rise as both sides present their vision for the club's future.
